Valkyrie diversifies spot Bitcoin ETF custody with BitGo

Valkyrie is the first spot Bitcoin ETF issuer to leverage two separate crypto custodians for its fund, thanks to its deal with BitGo. BitGo will provide custodial services for Valkyrie’s Bitcoin Fund (BRRR), safekeeping and storing a portion of the underlying Bitcoin (BTC) in the firm’s exchange-traded product. Valkyrie and BitGo reached the agreement on Jan. 17 but only filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Feb. 1. The strategy diversifies Valkyrie’s spot BTC ETF by splitting the risk across multiple crypto custodians, reducing single failure points, and bolstering the fund’s safety. Other issuers may eventually chart similar courses amid competition among asset managers. Bitcoin’s $48k bulwark between $55k price target

Image
Bitcoin may face minimal traffic on the road to $55,000 if the largest cryptocurrency can break a key resistance level.  According to technical analyst Ali Charts, Bitcoin (BTC) shows a clear path toward $60,000, although it hinges on BTC breaking through resistance around the $48,000 price range. This level was last seen in April 2022 following a U.S. banking crisis shortly before Terra’s ecosystem implosion.  On-chain data from IntoTheBlock, cited by the trader, suggests that BTC could target this resistance point after forming support of around $42,000. At this level, nearly 2.5 million Bitcoin addresses bought 1.12 BTC, currently worth over $52.5 billion after crypto’s king token made a 21-month high by surpassing $47,000. #Bitcoin has established a solid support zone at $42,000, backed by 2.48 million addresses holding over 1.12 million $BTC. If #Bitcoin can successfully breach the $48,000 resistance, on-chain data suggests a clear path ahead. With no major supply zones...

Image
Wall Street saw a $5.5 trillion market dip in August, while crypto currencies faced significant losses , challenging investor optimism. According to Bloomberg, August dealt Wall Street a bruising blow as the markets faced a challenging landscape—underscored by hawkish signals from global central banks that unnerved investors, catalyzing a drastic $5.5 trillion depletion in global stock valuations.  The repercussions were felt more sharply in the crypto industry. Digital assets, which had been poised for a revival in investor sentiment following industry-wide uncertainties post-FTX, instead found themselves mired in a deteriorating situation. Bitcoin lost 5% of its value during the month after a strong July. But the damage was heavier for crypto products in the ETF space.
