Maybe Bitcoin didn’t bottom? SEC lawsuit against Binance shakes BTC bulls’ confidence

Image
Bitcoin’s price dropped to $25,500 after the SEC announced a lawsuit against Binance and Changpeng Zhao, a move which also has BTC bulls wondering if the bottom is truly in. Bitcoin’s price declined 5% in one hour on June 5 after the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a lawsuit against Binance on allegations of violating federal securities laws. Even though the $25,500 support held for Bitcoin, investors are still digesting the potential impacts of the regulatory action, which also involves Binance CEO Changpeng “CZ” Zhao. According to digital asset investment firm Arca CEO Jeff Dorman, the direct impact of an eventual shutdown of Binance operations in the U.S. is irrelevant. Furthermore, non-criminal charges from the past should not destabilize Binance’s present international structures. Still, Arca’s CEO expects negative market sentiment to prevail as the crypto community cheers for CZ and Binance. My 2 sats on SEC vs Binance Mostly irrelevant since no o...

Professional Bitcoin traders displayed strength after the BTC price corrected to $25,830, favoring further bullish momentum. Bitcoin’s (BTC) price declined for 8 consecutive days until May 13, totaling a 9.4% correction. The last time such a losing streak happen ed was on June 14, 2022, after the Celsius lending platform halted withdrawals and FUD emerged from U.S. software firm MicroStrategy’s loan being liquidated at $21,000. Nothing remotely similar happen ed as Bitcoin retested the $25,800 support on May 12, apart from the network congestion and increased transaction fees. Traders and analysts speculated that a coordinated attack was aimed at causing network instability. Bitcoin is under DoS attack. High transaction fees are the chosen pain point by the attacker, probably to makes bitcoin unusable for smaller players. pic.twitter.com/0J56liNSGf — iris.to/jogi (@proofofjogi) May 7, 2023 As pointed out by investor and Bitcoin activist proofofjogi, high fees likely make the ne...

Bitcoin derivatives suggest $26K resistance level won't hold for long

BTC margin and option markets show no signs of discomfort or overconfidence despite 28% gains in two days. The price of Bitcoin (BTC) increased by 28% between March 12-14, reaching $26,500, its highest level since June 2022. Some may attribute the gains to the consumer price index's (CPI) 6% year-over-year increase in February, even though the figure was in line with expectations. The inflation metric reached its lowest level since September 2021, which is a positive development, but it does not validate the Federal Reserve's attempt to reduce the metric to 2%. Most likely, risk markets, such as stocks and cryptocurrencies, soared after regional bank stocks recovered from their March 13 lows. At 10:30 a.m. Eastern Time, First Republic Bank (FRC) shares were trading 54% higher, followed by Western Alliance Bancorporation (WAL) gaining 46% and KeyCorp (KEY) gaining 15%. The 30-year average mortgage rate decreased to 6.6% from 7.1% on March 7. Consequently, reduced mortgage rates...
