Trump’s World Liberty Financial suffers massive  $125 million loss

World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a decentralized finance (DeFi) platform backed by President Donald Trump and his family, has just liquidated some of its cryptocurrency holdings at a loss.  Following the latest transaction, the entity is grappling with a $125 million loss on its Ethereum (ETH), according to the latest data retrieved by Finbold from blockchain analytics firm Arkham Intel. The data indicates that a wallet potentially linked to World Liberty Financial sold 5,471 ETH, valued at approximately $8.01 million, on April 9 for $1,465 per token. This sale marks a massive loss compared to the project’s earlier investment when it reportedly spent $210 million to acquire 67,498 ETH at an average price of $3,259 per token. MicroStrategy, the business intelligence firm turned Bitcoin buying powerhouse, has rebranded to “Strategy” following a $670.8 million net loss in the fourth quarter of 2024. The software firm’s new branding incorporates a Bitcoin-themed visual and also includes the crypto market leader’s logo. In a Feb. 5 announcement , the newly-branded company said that it will continue providing business intelligence solutions to its clients as well as pursuing its corporate BTC treasury strategy. Strategy Revenue Below Analyst Estimates Strategy reported $120.7 million in revenue in the fourth quarter, which is a 3% year-on-year decrease and below analysts’ estimates by about $2 million.
