Solana (SOL) network revenue soars to 3-week highs

Image
User activity on the Solana network surged in early May, driving notable gains in network revenue. Solana’s daily network revenue, also known as real economic value (REV), has skyrocketed in recent weeks and hit $8.35 million on May 14, a total rise of 52.65% since the beginning of the month.  Even more impressively, on-chain data shows the figure stood above every other major Layer-1 and Layer-2 network.  Tron, the network with the second-highest REV on the day, had only $2.3 million, and Ethereum fell to the third place with just $1.79 million. XRP open interest is close to a 1-year low as of April 14, with the sum of open positions declining to 1.18 billion, down from a high of 3.67 billion in mid-January, according to the latest data retrieved by Finbold from market intelligence platform CryptoQuant . This is a clear signal of reduced speculative interest — but more importantly, it’s a strong sign that no clear trend, bullish or bearish, is present. This is supported by yet another simple metric — trading volume. The reduction in XRP open interest is accompanied by sluggish volume — which has reduced by 22.49% over the past 24 hours according to data from CoinMarketCap , and has been on a steady decline since Wednesday, April 9. Legal expert warns Ripple v. SEC delay could crush XRP

Image
XRP has managed to carve out a dominant position in a high-demand niche for itself. In spite of that success, the longstanding lawsuit between Ripple and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has been a stone around the cryptocurrency’s neck. While the victory of Donald Trump, largely seen as the pro-crypto candidate of the 2024 election, was initially taken as a bullish catalyst. The SEC has, indeed, dropped several cases since Gary Gensler’s exit.  Most notably, under the tenure of acting chair Mark Uyeda, the SEC has dropped its lawsuit against Coinbase. However, the regulatory body’s legal battle with Ripple has yet to be concluded. Despite widespread optimism and numerous rumors, the latest official developments in the case are months old. Raoul Pal Predicts Second Phase of the ‘Banana Zone,’ Sees Crypto Bull Run Extending to 2026

Image
Macro guru and Real Vision chief executive Raoul Pal says it is within the realm of possibility for crypto to witness an extended bull run this cycle. In a new video update, the ex-Goldman Sachs executive tells his 211,000 YouTube subscribers that the second phase of the “Banana Zone” – a term coined by him to refer to a period of rapid and explosive growth for the price of digital assets – will expand into 2026. “But [by] the back end of March, we should start to see price accelerate and then [in] April, May [and] June we should see some really significant price action as the second phase of the banana zone kicks in… So we had the start of the banana zone, we are now in [a] correction phase one – that happens each and every time. Look at 2017, it’s almost identical. Then as we go into March, April [and] May, we start accelerating up again into the next phase of the banana zone and then we’ll have another correction and you’ll ...
