Dogwifhat and Popcat sell-off as whale dumps tokens

Dogwifhat (WIF) price was down 11% on the day as top meme coins struggled. The Popcat (POPCAT) token also traded lower, falling by 20% in 24 hours. A whale has dumped both WIF and POPCAT tokens at a loss. Dogwifhat ($WIF) and Popcat (POPCAT) are down double-digits in the past 24 hours as the overall meme coins market experiences a significant sell-off. NFT startup Rario loses founders after $120M funding last year: Report

As part of the reported restructuring efforts at Rario, a number of roles are also being eliminated, according to the report. Rario, a Polygon-based platform issuing cricket-related nonfungible tokens (NFTs), has reportedly seen its founders leaving the firm after two years since launch. Founders of Rario, including Rario CEO Ankit Wadhwa and chief technology officer Sunny Bhanot, are being pushed out as investors at the startup to exert greater control over the platform, TechCrunch reported on Sept. 8. The contract has used an “anySwapFeeTo” function to transfer hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of tokens to itself, which on-chain sleuth Spreek suspected may have been malicious. A person is using the Multichain Executor to “drain” tokens associated with the AnySwap bridging protocol, according to a July 10 report from on-chain sleuth and Twitter user Spreek. NFTs are purchased for a variety of reasons but according to a new survey from CoinGecko, the majority buy them for utility and long-term profits. Utility and long-term profits have been ranked as the top reason s for buying non-fungible Tokens (NFTs), according to a Survey conducted by CoinGecko and Blockchain Research Lab. An April 10 CoinGecko report found most considered how much utility an NFT collection offers and the benefits of holding the token before buying with over 77% of respondents saying using an NFT for its “intended function” had some level of importance out of the 11 listed reasons for buying an NFT. However, 15.7% responded they were "neutral" about utility and 6.7% felt it was "not important" in the decision-making process before buying an NFT. 343 responses were examined in a survey of NFT and crypto users who ranked their top reasons for buying NFTs. Hackers hide malware in fake NFT game A phishing website purporting to offer a Pokémon-branded nonfungible token (NFT) card game has been spreading malware to unsuspecting gamers, a cybersecurity firm has warned. The website, which at the time of writing was still online, also claims to offer an NFT marketplace, with a link to buy Tokens and even an area to stake NFTs all based on the popular Japanese media franchise. However, an arm of the South Korean cybersecurity firm AhnLab, warned the public about website on Jan. 6, noting that instead of downloading the game, users were actually downloading a remote access tool — allowing hackers to take control of their device.
